What we offer at United Latin Dance

What makes us different?

  • Jason began his journey in Melbourne over 13 years ago, gaining experience at major local and international dance schools and performing alongside world champion dancers. Jason has consolidated his various dance studies to create a unique teaching style, utilising his experience in Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Ballet to supplement over a decade of Latin dance training. He believes that a “keep it simple” approach is required when teaching salsa. You don’t have to be born a dancer to dance salsa, and Jason is proof of that!

Amy always had a passion for dancing from a young age, but as life would have it, it was taken in a more musical direction. With a background in music theory, she found picking up salsa as a young adult more than easy. After quickly progressing to an advanced dancer, she became part of one of Australia’s premiere dance teams and started teaching.

  • Our keep it S.I.M.P.L.E Salsa methodology:

S - Start with Fundamentals: We’ll simplify the techniques for a strong foundation, ensuring everyone grasps the essentials from the start.

I - Instill Concepts Over Steps: Learn the underlying concepts and mechanics of salsa, such as timing, connection, weight transfer, and musicality, so you can apply these concepts creatively when social dancing.

M - Make it Engaging and Memorable: We’ll keep you positively challenged through fun, and interactive exercises!

P - Practice with Patience: Practice is key! but patience with who your dancing with, and also yourself is just as important!!

L - Learn and Adapt: Learning is a journey, but being open to feedback can make it smooth sailing!

E - Embrace Creativity and Expression: Why learn a strict pattern, when social dancing is all about improvisation and freestyle? Self-expression and creativity are encouraged in our classes so you can create your style and be uniquely you ;)

  • How many times have you done a class without clarity that you’re doing something correctly? At our studio, we prioritize the power of tailored feedback as one of the most effective tools for improvement.

We understand that without constructive guidance, recognizing areas for improvement becomes challenging. If no one points out potential areas for improvement, how can you be expected to enhance your skills?

  • Growth means different things to different people. We take the time to understand our student’s goals so that we can tailor your experience and feedback in a way that works for you.

Whether you just want to feel more comfortable social dancing, or you dream of being on stage, we’re able to help you progress in ways that are important to you.

Your journey starts now.
